Nowhere else in Ohio is the catch as fresh as in the Seafood Department at West Point Market. Fresh from the waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and the Great Lakes and straight to our counter, our fish is delivered daily by the finest distributors.Ensuring that you receive the freshest fish available, we have sourced our selections (which vary, according to season) from fisherman owned and operated businesses. To name a few, our newest seafood distributors include Honolulu Fish Co., Pacific Fish of Seattle, and Grouper 9 from the Gulf of Mexico. Fish from these groups is prepared on deck, iced, and shipped directly from port to West Point Market.
Tips on Buying Fresh Seafood-Fresh fish should be used in a day or two. -If you are waiting a few hours before preparing, seal in a plastic bag with no air and place on ice. -To freeze your fresh fish for future use, double wrap it and store in your freezer. Frozen fish will keep up to one month.-When determining serving size, a whole fish should be 3/4 to 1 lb. per person, while fillets or steaks should be 5-8 oz. per person. As always, our expert staff is happy to discuss preparation ideas, cooking methods and recipes with you.
